I began practicing yoga over 20 years ago in Birmingham, Alabama. It has been a love affair from the beginning. Yoga is a great way to stay connected to my physical body and spiritual and emotional self. I found yoga especially helpful in countering the negative effects of a high stress career in educational leadership.
In 2020, I completed a 200-hour teaching certification at Shanti Hot Yoga in Culver City, California. I initially began the training to deepen my practice but quickly realized I wanted to guide others in this transformative practice. In 2021, I earned a 50-hour Yin Yoga certification from Shanti Hot Yoga. In 2024, I completed another 200-hour teaching certification from The Center For Yoga in Larchmont.
The benefits of yoga are open to everyone. It isn’t a religion. You don’t have to be “flexible” to practice yoga. You don’t need a certain body type. Please don’t let any misinformation about yoga keep you off the mat. You are in the right place if you are looking for someone who can guide you safely in and out of poses with clear cueing in a supportive and nurturing environment. I teach in-person classes at three studios in the Los Angeles area and work with clients 1:1 or in small groups at my home studio.
